Installation Guide

Step 1: Unbox Your SmartphoneKey System

When you receive your SmartphoneKey package, carefully unbox it and ensure that all components are included:

  • SmartphoneKey Reader(s) (Wi-Fi or LTE, depending on your order)
  • 10 secure, non-copyable key cards (additional cards if ordered)

Step 2: Install the SmartphoneKey Reader
  1. Choose the Installation Location: Select the entry point(s) where you want to install the SmartphoneKey Reader. The reader should be placed near the door lock for easy access.
  2. Mount the Reader: Using the provided installation hardware, mount the SmartphoneKey Reader securely at the chosen location. Make sure it is firmly attached and accessible to users.
  3. Connect the Reader:
    • Wi-Fi Model: Connect the SmartphoneKey Reader to your property’s Wi-Fi network following the instructions in the quick start guide.
    • LTE Model: For the LTE version, ensure that the reader has a strong signal and is connected to the network as per the instructions. This option provides flexibility for locations without stable Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Set Up Key Cards
  1. Assign Key Cards: Distribute the key cards to authorized users. Each key card is uniquely programmed to ensure secure, non-duplicable access.
  2. Activate Key Cards: Follow the instructions in the quick start guide to activate each key card. Activation is quick and straightforward, allowing users to begin accessing the property immediately.
Step 4: Integrate with Apple or Google Wallet (Optional)
  1. Open Wallet App: For users who prefer to use their smartphone as a key, open the Apple or Google Wallet app on your phone.
  2. Add SmartphoneKey: Follow the prompts to add your SmartphoneKey digital key to the wallet. Once added, you can use your phone as a key by tapping it against the SmartphoneKey Reader.

Using Key Cards
  1. Unlocking Doors: To unlock the door, simply tap your SmartphoneKey key card against the installed SmartphoneKey Reader. The door will unlock automatically, allowing you entry.

Using Digital Keys (Wallet Integration)
  1. Unlocking with Phone: Open your Apple or Google Wallet app and tap your phone against the SmartphoneKey Reader to unlock the door.
  2. Battery Backup: If your phone’s battery is dead, the digital key card will still work, ensuring you’re never locked out.
Temporary Key Sharing
  1. Generate Temporary Keys: For guests or service providers, generate a temporary digital key through the SmartphoneKey's Admin Interface.
  2. Send Key to Guests: Share the digital key with your guest via email or messaging app. The key can be set to expire after a specified time or after a single use, providing flexible access control.
  3. Guest Access: Guests can use the temporary key in their Apple or Google Wallet to access the property during their stay.
Admin Interface

  2. Track Entry History: Monitor who has accessed the property and when, providing an additional layer of security and oversight.
QR Code Functionality
  1. Generate QR Codes: Generate unique QR codes for visitors to contact specific apartments directly from the entry point.
  2. Visitor Access: Visitors scan the QR code with their smartphone to call residents, offering a modern alternative to traditional intercom systems.
